By 12:30 this afternoon the Missouri River stage at St Joseph was 17.29 feet, just over minor flood stage, on its way to an expected crest of 22.6 feet by Saturday afternoon. At that level Riverfront Park in St Joe would be flooded and property along the Nodaway River would see some backwater flooding. The Missouri is expected to dip back below flood stage by about Tuesday.

Warnings are in effect along the Tarkio River at Fairfax and the Platte River near Agency.

Emergency Management Director Bill Brinton says flooding has closed these roads in Buchanan County. They will be closed during the Labor Day Weekend:
Kemmerer Road
Walden Creek Road
Rock Creek Road
Horn Road
115 Road north of State Route 116
Saxton/Easton Road
123 Road
135 Road
Hurlingen Road
112 Road
Chestnut Road

Flooding has closed a number of roadways under MoDOT’s jurisdiction as well. Click here for more
