A passenger in a crash last week in Daviess County has died, and prosecutors have now filed charges against the driver.

McKenzie Patti, 20, of Cameron, died a few days after the crash May 29 on U.S. 69 highway four miles west of Altamont. The driver, Aaron Balliett, of Cameron, was also seriously hurt and was being treated at St Lukes Hospital in Kansas City.

Prosecutors on Friday charged Balliett with Involuntary Manslaughter, DWI, Careless and Imprudent Driving, and Failing to Stop for a Stop Sign. A judge set bail at $35,000.

As we reported earlier, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said Balliett, 21, lost control of his vehicle and crashed into an embankment.
