36 Highway is back open after being shutdown this morning due to a crash just after the Missouri River Bridge.
Officer Scott Gary with the St. Joseph Police Department said 36 Highway was shutdown in both directions around 8:30 Thursday morning at I-229.
He said a 30-year-old St. Joseph man was driving a maroon truck westbound on 36 Highway, ran a red light and was hit by a semi making a left turn from the off ramp of I-229 onto 36. Gary said the driver of the maroon truck was injured but refused treatment at the scene.
Traffic was redirected in the area for about an hour. The driver of the maroon truck was issued a ticket for running a red light.
