The St. Joseph Mustangs won their third consecutive game Tuesday as they defeated Sedalia 6-4 inside Phil Welch Stadium.
St. Joe’s collegiate summer baseball team improves to 12-6 and they’re now 10-5 in the MINK League. With the win the Mustangs have pulled to within 1.5 games of the Bombers in the North Division
St. Joseph fell behind 2-0 in the top of the first inning, but then scored six unanswered runs over the next seven innings to take control of the game.
Ronnie Wigginton started for the Mustangs and earned the win. He allowed just two runs on seven hits in six innings of work.
Zach Smith had a big night offensively for St. Joe as he went 2-for-4 with a home run, three runs scored and one RBI. Smith also had three stolen bases. Mason Janvrin and Colton Eremian added two hits each.
The Mustangs remain at home Wednesday as they host Chillicothe at 7:00 p.m. inside Phil Welch Stadium.
