Mustangs rally to defeat Alumni 11-4

The St. Joseph Mustangs rallied from an early deficit to roll past the Mustangs Alumni team 11-4 Friday night at Phil Welch Stadium. St. Joe’s collegiate summer baseball team improves to 12-4 on on the season.

The Alumni jumped out to a quick lead as Johnny Coy, the Mustangs current manager, drove in two runs in the first inning and they led 3-0 in the second.

St. Joseph bounced back with two in the second and then they added four runs in the third inning and four more in the fifth to blow the game open.

Hampton Hudson led the Mustangs offense as he went 2-for-5 with three RBI and one run scored. Jackson Wagner added two hits, while Dylan Ketch and Karson Reid scored two runs each.

Ronnie Wiggington earned the win as he went five innings and allowed three runs on four hits.

The Mustangs get back into MINK League play Saturday as they host the Nevada Griffons at 7:00 p.m. inside Phil Welch Stadium.
