DEKALB COUNTY — One person was injured in an accident just before 2a.m. Saturday in DeKalb County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2009 Arctic Cat VLX 700 driven by Jay A. Ellis, 41, Union Star, was northbound on County Line Road at U.S. 169 in Union Star.

The ATV traveled off the road, struck a ditch and the driver was ejected.

Ellis was arrested for DWI,  unlawfully operating an ATV in a careless manner and operating an ATV while under the influence of alcohol, according to the MSHP.

He was released so Grand River Ambulance could transport him Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.

He was not wearing a helmet, according to the MSHP.
