CLAIR COUNTY — One person died in an accident just before 6a.m. Wednesday in St. Clair County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Ford F250 driven by George D. Heisten, 76, Eldorado Springs, was eastbound on U.S. 54 three miles west of Collins.  The pickup traveled off the left side of the road down an embankment and hit trees and overturned.

Heisten was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Shelden Funeral Home in Osceola.

He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
