Buchanan County homeowners will soon have the option to pay real estate taxes in monthly installments. County Collector Peggy Campbell says for now the program will not include personal property taxes. Participants will make make equal payments for ten months, then a final payment that brings the total up to the year’s real estate tax bill.

The monthly payments will be direct withdrawals from taxpayer accounts, and will go into non-interest-bearing escrow accounts. Participation in the program is voluntary. The county will send out letters at the end of the month with information about how to sign up.
