A jury trial got underway Monday in St Joseph for a Bethany man accused of abusing and killing his seven-year-old son and setting fire to his mobile home to cover up the crime.

Seven women and five men have been chosen to hear evidence in the trial, which is expected to last about five days.

The trial was moved to Buchanan County after a Tony King’s lawyer filed a motion for a change of venue.

Investigators uncovered the body of young Jermiah Lamm in the rubble of the burned out mobile home in January of last year. Prosecutors accuse King of abusing his son, strangling him, and then setting fire to the mobile home.
