Transportation officials blame a sewer collapse for the closure of Route CC in Hamilton, Missouri.

Officials at the Missouri Department of Transportation say the collapse of the sewer line prompted the closure of the highway from Gallatin Avenue to Ardinger Street.

The City of Hamilton will be making the repairs and the roadway will open as soon as possible.

An official with MODOT said the road would remain closed all day Wednesday, and that they hoped to reopen the highway on Thursday.
