Top congressional Republicans from Missouri say allegations against GOP Gov. Eric Greitens are disturbing and disgusting, but they’re stopping short of calling for his resignation.

A woman with whom the governor had an extramarital affair in 2015 testified that Greitens was physically aggressive during an unwanted sexual encounter and threatened to distribute a partially nude photo of her if she spoke about it.

Her testimony was released in a report from state lawmakers Wednesday. A legislative panel is considering whether to recommend impeachment.

U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt says the legislative work and a related pending criminal case against Greitens are appropriate and should continue.

Congresswoman Vicky Hartzer says the report “surpasses disturbing” and is “disgusting.” She says he’s due his day in court, but the allegations call into question his character.

Congresswoman Ann Wagner says Greitens is unfit to lead.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) – A baby giraffe named Dixie has made her debut at the Kansas City Zoo.

The Kansas City Star reports that the 6-foot-tall calf and her mother, Lizzie, had not been on display until Wednesday. Dixie weighed more than 100 pounds when she was born in February. She was in good health but zoo officials waited for warmer weather before allowing her in the outside enclosure.

Temperatures Wednesday in the Kansas City area hit 80 degrees.

Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens says allegations of violence or sexual assault related to an extramarital affair he had are false, despite testimony by the woman that he was physically aggressive during an unwanted sexual encounter.

In a statement late Wednesday, Greitens repeated that the affair was consensual.

A House investigatory report released Wednesday includes testimony from the woman, who said Greitens slapped, grabbed and shoved her during a 2015 affair before his election. She also said he threatened to distribute a partially nude photo of her if she spoke about their relationship.

A special House panel launched the investigation of Greitens shortly after he was indicted in February on a felony invasion-of-privacy charge related to the photo claim.

Greitens says his innocence will be proven during a criminal trial scheduled for May 14.

KANSAS CITY-(AP) – Authorities say an 80-year-old man who had lost a $5.75 million lawsuit to Kansas City attorney Tom Pickert has been charged in his death.

The Kansas City Star reports David Jungerman was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. Pickert was found shot to death Oct. 25 on the front porch of his home.

It was not immediately clear if Jungerman has an attorney yet.

A probable cause affidavit says Jungerman accidentally recorded himself saying he killed Pickert. It appeared he did not turn off the recorder he had been using during a court hearing.

Pickert practiced personal injury law. Jungerman is a farmer and maker of baby furniture who lives in Raytown.

MOUND CITY – A Kansas man Wednesday pleaded no contest to two counts of first-degree premeditated murder for the 2016 deaths of two family members, according to Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt.

David Patrick McNabb, 32, Pittsburg, pleaded no contest to the two counts of first-degree premeditated murder as well as one count of felony theft and one count of interference with law enforcement. District Court Judge Mark Ward accepted the pleas and adjudged McNabb guilty of the crimes. The charges stemmed from the November 2016 deaths of McNabb’s uncle, Kenneth McNabb, and grandmother, Betty McNabb.

Sentencing is scheduled for September 5 at 9:30 a.m. in Linn County District Court.

The case was investigated by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and Kansas Bureau of Investigation. Assistant Attorneys General Jessica Domme and Jason Oxford of Schmidt’s office are prosecuting the case.

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — Kansas plans to post mug shots of people who owe back child support in an effort to shame them into paying or get tips on their location.

The program called Child Support Evaders features a website hosted on the Kansas Department for Children and Families showing people who owe more than $5,000 in late support. It includes their name, photo, amount owed, number of children owed support. It also allows the public to submit tips anonymously on where the person might be located.

The initiative is among a growing number of similar programs around the country.

Arizona launched a campaign in 2016 to post on Facebook and Twitter the names and photos of individuals behind on support. Texas, Louisiana and Georgia also have similar programs.
