Mildred Arlene Fasching, 90, St. Joseph, Missouri died Monday, November 25, 2013 at a local healthcare facility.
She was born September 3, 1923 to George and Flora (Montgomery) Edkins in St. Joseph, Missouri.
She married Corbett Hiram Fasching, Sr. on December 25, 1947. He preceded her in death in 2006.
Mildred graduated from Benton High School. She worked for Quaker Oats for twenty-two years then later worked at General Dynamics Convair in San Diego, California for fiteen years until her retirement.
Mrs. Fasching enjoyed crocheting, bowling and dancing.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Forest, Wayne and George.
Survivors: children, Corbett Fasching, II. (Stacey) and Stephanie Marbut (Phil); stepdaughter, Elamae Campbell (Doc); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, great-great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sister, LaReta Sievers (Bill); and brother, Ace Edkins (Barbara).

He was born November 18, 1960.
Steven was preceded in death by his father.

Thora Darleen VanPelt,

VanPelt, ThoraThora Darleen VanPelt, 94, Kearney, Missouri, formerly of Maryville, died November 21, 2013, at Heartland Regional Medical Center, Saint Joseph, Missouri.

Thora was born Thursday, June 19, 1919, in Shambaugh, Iowa to Walter Henry and Gertrude (Beery) Huff.

A graduate of Bloomfield, Iowa High School, Thora was a member of the Countryside Christian Church, Maryville, and was a homemaker.

She married Charles Franklin VanPelt on September 20, 1941, in Maryville, Missouri.

Preceding in death were her husband Charles Franklin VanPelt (June 18, 2003, and brother Ronald Huff.

Survivors include her children: son Steven Charles (Jeanie) VanPelt, Kearney, Missouri and daughter Kathleen (Henry) Hopper, Saint Joseph, Missouri, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Memorial funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Monday December 2, 2013, at Price Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in Nodaway Memorial Gardens, Maryville, Missouri.

Rollie David Vinzant

Vinzant, Rollie webRollie David Vinzant, age 61, Maryville, died Friday, November 22, 2013 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

Dave was born April 4, 1952 in Maryville, Missouri the son of the late Rollie Junior and Dorothy Helen (Auten) Vinzant.

Dave was a member of the Maryville High School class of 1970 and had worked for Robbins Lightening and Protection in Maryville until he entered the United States Army in 1975. He had later worked for New England Business as a machinist, before his retirement.

He was united in marriage to Debra Ann (Hankins) on February 27, 2004 in their home in Maryville.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his son Joshua who died in 2007.

Survivors include his wife Debbie; three daughters, Nikki (Scott) Harkrider, Ashleigh (Matt) Long, both of Maryville, and Heather Tooley, Independence, Missouri; one son Timothy Tooley, Humbolt, South Dakota; one sister Patricia Diane Vinzant, Maryville, two brothers Roger (Lynette) Vinzant, Leavenworth, Kansas, Roy (Dee) Vinzant, Utah; 17 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Vinzant’s body has been cremated. Memorial services will be held 4 PM, Sunday, December 1, 2013 at the Price Funeral Home in Maryville. Visitation will be from 2-4 PM prior to the services. Military services will be provided by the James Edward Gray American Legion Post #100, Maryville. Inurnment will be in Nodaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Maryville.

Herbert Farmer

Herbert Farmer, 89, St. Joseph, MO, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013 at his home.

Herbert was born on March 3, 1924, in Nodaway County, MO, to Haynes and Henrietta (Clouse) Farmer. He was a graduate of New Point, MO High School. He was retired from LaFarge Concrete Company.

Herbert married Valda Isabelle Burns on January 1, 1945, in Fillmore, MO. She passed away in 2006. Herbert was also preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister.

Survivors include his children; Dr. Duane Farmer, Jeanice McDonald, Patricia Sanders and spouses; two grandchildren, Meredith Dressen and spouse and April Sonnet; and one great-grandson Aston Michael.

Celebration of Life 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 30th Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph, MO. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to one of the three foundations currently affecting our family members; American Diabetes Association, Leukemia/Lymphoma Society or National Parkinsons Foundation. Many peoples lives will be changed because of your thoughtfulness honoring their request.

KatherineYeakley, 92, St. Joseph, MO, passed away Monday, November 25, 2013, at her home.

Katherine was born on June 24, 1921, in Falls City, Nebraska. to Loren & Nancy (Keeley) Milburn. She was of the Christian faith. She married Earl Yeakley, Jr. on February 14, 1943. He preceded her in death on February 25, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Gary and Jeffrey Yeakley.

Survivors include one daughter, Karen Winder; granddaughter, Laura Fitzwater; grandson Randy Winder; and great-grandson, Brett (Stephanie) Winder, all of St. Joseph, MO. Also, surviving are two other grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and four great-great-
grandchildren.

Katherine wishes were to have no visitation or services.

Memorial donations may be made to Hands of Hope Hospice.

He was born August 27, 1960 in Fort Scott, Kansas.
He married Brenda Dillon on June 16, 1984. Steven was a radio DJ.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors: wife; daughter, Aubry White, St. Joseph, Missouri; and sister, Pam Milburn.

She was born November 14, 1926 in St. Mary’s, Kansas, daughter of Ella and Gordon VanHorn. She worked at Western Union in Kansas City, then the Savannah Jail, and Ferris Wheel Restaurant. She enjoyed going to the boat, spending time with her children and grandchildren, baking, spoiling her grandchildren with Orea Cookie Pie, and children with Ginger Snap bars. She was a member of the Tops # 902, and was a Christian. Oneita was preceded in death by husband, Osker Lammers, father, Ira Gordon VanHorn, step mother, Effie Vanhorn, mother, Ella Mae VanHorn, brother, James VanHorn, sister, Erma Lee Fisher. Survivors include, four daughters, Wanda (Loyde) Anderson of Saint Joseph, MO, Ella (Jim) Roach of Trimble, MO, Ida Smith of Belle, MO, and Linda Williams of St. Joseph, MO, three sons, Steven Lammers of St. Joseph, MO, Ron Lammers, and Henry (Carol) Lammers of Savannah, MO, brother, Leroy VanHorn of Salina, KS, 1/2 brother, Larry VanHorn of Oklahoma , numerous, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Rupp Funeral Home, with Randall Wehmeyer officiating, The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Catherine was a member of King Hill Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Buford Coleman.
Survivors: daughter, Carol Fairlie (Thomas), St. Joseph, Missouri; sons, James Lawler (Marcia), Camdenton, Missouri and Robert Lawler (Mary Lou), Battlefield, Missouri; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Coleman, Jr. (Jackie) and Larry Coleman (Julie); sister, Florence Edmundson (Charles); and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a General Contractor, truck driver and also worked at Feeney Construction. David was preceded in death by his father, Lytle Bennett, mother, Rosabelle Terry, son, David Bennett Jr., daughter, Teena Bennett, two brothers, Bob and Ben, three sisters, Wanda Betty, and Mildred. He is survived by his companion of many years, Sandra McMillian of the home, two daughters, Tammy Miller of St. Joseph, and Tara Bennett of Kansas City, son, Gerald “Bub” Bennett of St. Joseph, 15, grandchildren, several, great grandchildren, two brothers, Daniel Bennett Sr. and James Bennett of St. Joseph, and several nieces and nephews.
