He was born December 6, 1936 in St. Joseph, son of Alma and Ferman Lofts. He worked at Dugdale Meat Packing for 20 years until it closed then Hillyard Chemical for over 20 years as a Truck Driver, he also owned the Lofts Tavern. He enjoyed playing baseball, and softball, and played on the Pepsi Cola Team, Wal-Air Softball team, he also participated on the Senior National Softball team, he was a member of Moila Shrine. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ronnie Lofts, two sisters, Dixie Bachali, and Beverly Sealby, and a granddaughter, Brandy Henderson. Survivors include, son, Mark (Deanne) Lofts, two daughters, Brenda (Jeff) Drennen, and Kathy (Sean) Waitkoss all of St. Joseph, MO, three grandsons, Brandon Henderson, Collin Lofts, and Bryson Waitkoss, three granddaughters, Nikki Davis, Kortney (Derek) Ptomey, and Kylie Lofts, two great-grandchildren, Jaslynn Helm, and Brevin Ptomey.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am, on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Rupp Funeral Home, with Rev. She was born March 31, 1936 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of Mary and William Gault. She graduated from Convent Sacred Heart and was a Homemaker. She was a member of Marine Corp Auxiliary, a Life Member of Beta Sigma Phi, and a Head Start and school volunteer and in her younger years. She was also a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Phillip Eugene Cline, and one sister. Survivors include daughter, Kelly Cline (Karl Burnett) five sons, Phillip Cline, Charles “Billy” Cline, Patrick G. (Elizabeth) Cline, Mike M. Cline, and Chris Cline (Sandy Smith) all of St. Joseph, MO, two brothers, Bill and Roy Gault, numerous, grandchildren & great grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at 10:00 am at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Father Ryan Koster Celebrant. She attended the Hatfield High School and she retired from the Fellowship Boarding Home in St. Joseph, MO as a caretaker. She enjoyed reading her bible, and was a member of the Fenton Church of the Nazerene Church. Opal was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Ronald L. Williams, a brother, Aurther Fletchall, six sisters, Della Clark, Mary King, Barbara Fletchall, Marie Dorlette, Norma Thorburn, and Bonnie Bacon. Survivors include, daughter, Connie Fletchall of the home, and two sisters, Louetta F. Scott of Port St. John, FL, and Ann Coats of St. Joseph, MO, four, grandchildren, four, great grandchildren, as well as numerous, nieces and nephews.

Gregory Dale McDowell 56, of Saint Joseph, Missouri passed away Friday July 10, 2015 at his home. He was born July 1, 1959 in Saint Joseph, Missouri. He married Teresa Caldwell McDowell on 8/16/1985 and she survives of the home. He attended Lafayette High School. He served in the United States Army. and loved to Cook. He was a Volunteer at Salvation Army. Greg was preceded in death by his father, Glen McDowell, mother, Deanna Proffitt, brother, Howard Ellison, sister, Wanda Calloway. He is survived by wife, Teresa McDowell of home, daughter, Megan McDowell, son, Chad McDowell, three grandchildren, Treveon, Montie, and Emika, five sisters, Brenda Proctor, Linda Crippen, Rhonda (Gary) Moore, Karen Pennington, and Charmin Ellison. James A. Johnson
1943-2015

James A. Johnson, 72, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife of 38 years, Beverly Ann Johnson. Tragically, he was rapidly succeeded in death by his brother, Michael, on July 7, 2015.
An avid reader and student of history, Mr. Johnson had honorably served his nation in the Army, was a graduate of the Citadel, and had retired as a civil servant in the early 1990s.
Born June 5, 1943, to Luther and Concha Johnson in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, James was a private and plainspoken man, with a tender and generous heart. A man of faith, he and his wife Beverly attended the Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church congregation.
He is survived by his children, Clinton, Joseph, and Laura Celeste Gventer; by three siblings; numerous grandchildren; and other extended family.
Private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Care provided by Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Robert was a Senior Master Sergeant in the Air National Guard.
He was an avid softball player and played for the Air National Guard and Pepsi teams in the 60s and 70s.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack Buller; and sisters, Myrldene Arnot and Geraldine Fitzgerald.

She was born June 19, 1939, to Michael and Freda (Dowell) King in Brookfield, Missouri.
Mrs. Johnson was a long retired civil servant. She attended Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church.
Beverly was a talented quilter and a crafts enthusiast. She was a very clever, organized and capable person. She was one of the most kind hearted and gentle people you would ever meet.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; and husband of 38 years, James A. Johnson.
Survivors include her children, Cindy, Michael, Laura, Richard and Joseph; sister, Carolyn Tompkins; and numerous grandchildren and extended family.

He was born January 22, 1922 in Carlyle, Kansas to Harvey and Nancy (Lindenstruth) Upshaw. He proudly served as a Chief in the US Navy during WWII on the U.S.S.J. Richard Ward D.E. 243. Ralph worked as a service supervisor for Sears for over 35 years and later at Walmart for another 10 years. He was a member of the American Legion, Saxton Lodge No. 508, A.F.& A.M.; High Twelve Club. Ralph gardened, could fix anything and he loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and ten brothers and sisters. She worked at Boehringer Ingelheim as a Microbiologist. She enjoyed music, reading books, loved her cats and all animals, she enjoyed volunteering at the Animal Shelter. Laura also loved to travel especially Europe and the all over the United States. Preceding her in death are her paternal grandparents, Gene and Betty Wells, maternal grandfather, Enos Simerly, maternal grandmother, Maxine (Simerly) McQueen, father-in-law, Sam Swartz, aunt, Juanita Wells, and uncle, Albert Wells. Freda Christeen (Caruthers) Bell was born January 26, 1932, in Little Rock, AR to David M. and Fanny C. Caruthers, who preceded her in death. Freda is survived by her faithful husband of 67 years, Charles Bell; her three children and their spouses: sons C. Douglas Bell and wife Vicki, and Dennis Bell and wife Cheri and daughter Nancy Nelson. Also surviving are grandsons Dennis Bell and wife Kelly, Scott Bell and wife Debbie, Brian Bell and wife Lynn, Joel Woodward and wife Melinda, Bradley Wilson and wife Jessica; granddaughters Amy Maudlin and husband Mike and Ashley Castle and husband Daniel. Fredas brother Jesse Bagwell and sister Margaret Midge Roach survive her, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Nine great-grandchildren survive her: Alex, Courtney, and Reagan Maudlin, Amanda Woodward, Cooper Wilson, Hailey, Taylor, Dylan and Trevor Bell. Freda was a faithful wife, and devoted mother, sister, grandmother and daughter who dedicated her life to the care of those around her. She worked as both a beautician and real estate agent, but her heartbeat was as a homemaker. Her most notable attribute was her generosity and willingness to reach out to others. Fredas faith in Jesus served as a source of motivation through life and was a comfort and peace as she transitioned from this world. She was dearly loved and will be sorely missed. Greer, Paul obit photoPaul Gray Greer, 26, St. Joseph, Missouri went home to be with his precious Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, July 5, 2015.
He was born June 13, 1989 to Dennis and Deborah (Egli) Greer in Wausau, Wisconsin.
Paul was diagnosed with cancer at age 16 and fought the battle for ten years. He used this to help and inspire others to not give up hope.
Paul was home schooled and later attended Missouri Western State University where he recently received an Honorary Bachelors of Humane Letters Degree.
When he was younger he served two years with Novo Ministries in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at an intercity childrens ministry.
He worked for Marlow White Military Uniforms, Inc. in Leavenworth, Kansas. This is a place he enjoyed being a part of and afforded him the opportunity to work with all three of his brothers.
He was preceded in death by his aunt, Rebecca Anne Wilson.
Survivors include his parents; three brothers, Sean (Karen), Daniel (Rachel) and Stephen (Audrey) Greer; sister, Erin Greer; seven nieces and nephews; maternal grandparents, John Egli and Rebecca Christian; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Debbie married Marc Johnson on September 17, 1983.
She was a Jehovahs Witness. Debbie was an animal lover and considered her pets family. One of her favorite pastimes was the Renaissance Festival. She would dress the part and knew all the performers. One of her most endearing qualities was her great wit and dry sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her father.

Mr. Siela proudly served in the US Navy during World War II.
He married Eileen M. Marshall in 1952. She preceded him in death in 2013.
Known as Cowboy, he ran the Centennial Family Dairy Farm that has been in the family since 1845. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion Post 359. He was very independent and did things his way. Robert enjoyed playing bingo and pitch in his free time.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James, Gerald and Eugene Siela and Joseph Clarion; and sisters, Mary Louise Mackiewicz and Erma Buelher.
Survivors include his children, Carol Wright and Tim Siela; sister, Eunice Grier; grandchildren, Charles Wright, Chad Wright, Natalie Wright-Newman and Chantell Pennington (Tony); and great-grandchildren, Ayklen, Macie and Jaxsen.

Anita F. Brockman
1923-2015

Anita F. Brockman, 92, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015 at a local healthcare facility.
She was born February 19, 1923 to Henry and Anna (Fischer) Kiehnhoff of rural Wathena, Kansas.
Anita married Glen C. Brockman on October 23, 1948. He preceded her in death in 2007.
Mrs. Brockman worked for the U.S. War Department under the Adjutant Generals Office in Washington D.C., during World War II. After the war she took a job with the Federal Aviation in Kansas City, Missouri where she met her husband. She was also involved with serving her church, Our Savior Lutheran in Eufaula, Oklahoma, and volunteering.
Upon retirement, Anita and her husband enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and abroad and attending Elderhostel courses at various colleges. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her step-daughter, Natalie Plummer, one grandson and two great-grandchildren of Prairie Village, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Farewell Services 10:30 A.M. Saturday, Christ Lutheran Church, Wathena, Kansas. Inurnment Bethel Cemetery, Concordia, Missouri, at a later date. He was born September 23, 1946 to William and Nedella (Welter) Butler in St. Joseph, Missouri.
He graduated from Lafayette High School class of 1964, Central Missouri State University and Missouri Western State College.
Dennis married Liz Brunk on September 25, 1976. She survives of the home.
Mr. Butler proudly served in the US Army Reserve, retiring as a Sergeant.
He had worked for Herzog for the past 38 years.
DB was an avid Royals and MU Tigers fan. The most important thing to him was his family, especially his grandchildren. He was also a lifetime member of Happy Hour at Nortys and leaves behind many cherished friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William Buddy and Gary E. Butler; and sister, Patricia Patty Baker.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Liz Butler; children, Benji Butler, Joshua White and Jenny Butler; grandchildren, Hayley Butler, Kaitlyn and Jagger Mejia; and beloved dog, Reagan.

Alice Marie Grafton
1925-2015

alice graftonAlice Marie Grafton, 89, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at a local health care center.
Alice was born October 19, 1925 to Shannon and Elizabeth (Armstrong) Stephens in Doniphan County, Kansas. She grew up in the Doniphan County area, graduating from Atchison High School. During WWII, she went to work for Union Pacific Rail Road where she met her husband Rex Grafton, who was currently serving in the U.S. Navy. They later married on February 1, 1946 and moved to St. Joseph. Alice was a homemaker and loved to cook, especially known for her pie baking. Alice was a Christian and a member of King Hill Christian Church, where she had previously served as church secretary.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband Rex in 1989; and two brothers, Gerald and Robert Stephens.
Survivors include two children, Michael (Judy) Grafton, of Blue Springs, MO and Kristi Grafton, of St. Joseph; four grandchildren, Christopher Grafton, Dana (Bruce) Evans, Stacy (Roy) Ewing and Kelly (Derek) Thomas; six great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law; several nieces and nephews and longtime companion, Bill Marcell.
Graveside Services and Interment will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, at Doniphan Cemetery, Doniphan Kansas with Chaplain Alan Pruitt officiating. Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. today, at Clark-Sampson Funeral Home where family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Marjorie Daw Haage
1927-2015

Marjorie Daw Haage, 87, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Friday, May 22, 2015 at a local healthcare facility.
She was born May 30, 1927 in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Marjorie married Don Haage in Garden City, Kansas, on January 3, 1945.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was also an elder; a 50-year member of PEO, most recently of Chapter JF; Runcie Club; and Missouri Western State University Ambassadors Club. She volunteered at the St. Joseph Convention and Visitors Bureau, Trails West, and for the Performing Arts Association. Marjorie was an active partner with her husband in the clothing business in Phillipsburg, KS, and Maryville, MO, and later in real estate in St. Joseph. She also worked at the Missouri Western University library for 18 years.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Edwin and Gertrude (Cassidy) Daw; and a sister, Lois Peddicord. Survivors include daughters, Donna Minton, St. Joseph, Missouri, Deborah McClymont (John), Norton, Kansas, Denise Biechler (Dean), Ames, Iowa; and Deidre Black (Keith), Tucson, Arizona; nine grandsons, Scott Westbrook (Candi), Kirk Westbrook (Laura), Grant McClymont (Cindel), Will Minton (Ashley), Darrin Black (Wendy), Devin Black (Kailey), Josef Biechler, Peter Biechler and Reikel Biechler (Mary); granddaughter, Kathryn Wilson (Kevin); eleven great-grandchildren, Connor, Mackenzie, Arik, Chloe, Lily Westbrook, Kingston and Avery McClymont, Juniper Minton, Samantha, Abigail and Ryan Black; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kenneth loved his family and friends. He was an Eagle Scout and did not know a stranger; he enjoyed motorcycles, traveling, fishing, and playing the piano. He graduated from Savannah High School in 2006. He worked at Country Mart and Spader Farms and loved to be around the horses.
Survivors include, his parents; one brother Kyle Budine and Fiancé Caitie Turner all of Savannah, MO; sister, Terin Budine, St. Louis, MO; maternal grandfather, Franklin Hughes and friend Sue Hagee; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his triplet brother Kurt Budine; maternal grandmother, Bernita Hughes; paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Gladys Budine

Richard married Gloria Young on November 22, 1944 in Atchison, KS. He was a member of the Rosendale Christian Church, Rosendale, MO. His home meant everything to him and he loved his family dearly. Richard enjoyed farming, was a good honest person and a quit man but when he spoke you listened.
Survivors include his wife Gloria of the home; one son, Richard (Debbie) McGuire; one daughter-in-law Jean McGuire, both of Rosendale, MO; sister Francis (John) McKinney, St. Joseph, MO; four grandchildren, Harold McGuire, Debbie Dykes, Jesse McGuire, Sarah Zimmerman; great grandchildren, Alyssa McGuire, Keith Zimmerman, and Jacob Zimmerman. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dean McGuire; sister, Dorothy Close; and a brother – in law, Edwin Close

She was a secretary for the Western Regional Diagnostic Correctional Center, from which she retired in 2013.
She ran Silveys Flower Shop and was quite creative and enjoyed crafts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jodie Ward; and several brothers and sisters.
