Temps near 88 with chance of rain and storms tonight, tomorrow

Scattered non-severe storms may be ongoing Friday morning across portions of eastern Kansas and western Missouri. If so, these storms will gradually dissipate as they move south and east through the morning hours. Another round of storms are expected to develop during the afternoon with a few strong storms possible. Temperatures will continue to warm into the weekend with 90s for much of the area by Saturday. Until then, highs will top out in the mid to upper 80s each day. Areas of light fog possible early this morning before burning off by mid to late morning. Another cool day in store with a few sprinkles possible, but overall conditions will be dry. Skies will begin to clear from west to east late this afternoon and evening becoming mostly clear overnight. Tuesday will see temperatures rebound back into the 80s and dry conditions. Several rounds of thunderstorms are possible today, beginning this morning and lasting on-and-off through the day. The best potential for storms will be this afternoon through the evening, when more widespread storm coverage is expected. This afternoon/evening period also has the best potential to produce strong to severe storms, possibly resulting in large hail and damaging winds. Temperatures will climb back into the 80s to near 90 by afternoon with another warm day in store Saturday. Storms may develop this evening along the Iowa/Missouri border as front shifts a bit south.
