Temps in the 60s with chance of rain and storms tonight

Scattered thunderstorms are once again expected this evening as another round of rainfall develops over the lower Missouri Valley. While the overall severe weather chances remain low, some storms may produce large hail south of the Kansas City Metro. In addition to the isolated hail threat, flash flooding will also remain a concern this evening as localized heavy rains fall over already saturated soils. Here’s the 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service:

Rain and storms in the forecast through Thursday morning

Showers and thunderstorms will continue across the region through early Thursday morning. Multiple rounds of storms will bring heavy rainfall to the area, which will lead to an increased flash flood threat as additional rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches will be possible through Thursday. Chance of rain and severe weather tonight into Thursday

Showers and storms will continue to push off to the east this morning leaving the area dry until after midnight. Multiple rounds of storms will start up around midnight tonight and last through Thursday afternoon. Heavy rainfall and severe weather will be possible Tuesday. The area could see rainfall totals of 3-4” from Tuesday into Thursday so flash flooding is looking possible along and south of the Missouri River. Severe weather timing Tuesday looks to start up in the late afternoon and into the evening with all severe modes possible of large hail, damaging winds, and even a few tornadoes. The tornado threat looks to stay south of Highway 50 in the late afternoon into the evening timeframe.
