Atchison County teen hospitalized after rollover accident
ATCHISON COUNTY — One person was injured in an accident just before 3:30p.m. Tuesday in Atchinson County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2003 Chevy Avalanche driven by Wyatt Anthony Kramer, 15, Atchison, was eastbound on 274th Road four miles northeast of Effingham.
The driver lost control of the vehicle on the gravel. It entered the south ditch where it rolled multiple times.
A passenger Payton E. Wagner, 14, Atchison, was transported to the hospital in Atchison.
Kramer was not injured. Both were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.

Annual Mayors’ Thanksgiving Dinner to be held Nov. 17th
St. Joseph Mayor Bill McMurray and former mayors (listed in term order) Glenda Kelly, Larry R. Stobbs and Ken Shearin will host the 32nd Annual Mayors’ Thanksgiving Dinner on Saturday, November 17, at the Civic Arena.
According to a press release, the Mayors’ Thanksgiving Dinner helps raise awareness of hunger in the community and proceeds benefit the Second Harvest Community Food Bank.
This year’s entertainment will be provided by O’Riada Manning Academy of Irish Dance.
Tickets are $30 per person, $50 per couple, or a table of 8 for $250.
The doors will open at 4 p.m. Dinner begins at 5 p.m. and will be catered by Gina’s Catering.

The deadline to RSVP is Friday, November 9.
Kan. woman hospitalized after driver falls asleep in Brown Co.
BROWN COUNTY— One person was injured in an accident just before 8:30a.m. Tuesday in Brown County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2010 Toyota Tundra driven by Koertland Carl Beyer, 40, Sabetha, was northbound on U.S. 75 just south of 260th Road.
The driver reported he fell asleep. The Tundra collided with a northbound 2010 Nissan Altima driven by Christine D. Rieschick, 44, Holton.
Rieschick was transported to Sabetha Hospital. Beyer was possibly injured, according to the KHP. They did not report where he was treated.
Two people injured in head-on crash in Daviess County
Two people were injured in a head-on crash in Daviess County Monday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, shortly after 5 a.m. Monday, 51-year-old Steven K. Siegel of Gallatin was driving a Ford F-150 north on MO 13 about five miles south of Gallatin. Siegel fell asleep, his vehicle crossed the center line and hit a Mercury Grand Marquis head-on.
The driver of the Grand Marquis, 35-year-old Brandon L. Bush of Coffey, was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City for treatment of serious injuries. A passenger in the Grand Marquis refused treatment at the scene for minor injuries.
According to the crash report, the driver of the F-150 was not injured.

Atchison officer-involved shooting suspect moved from hospital to jail
WYANDOTTE COUNTY –– The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) is investigating an officer involved shooting which occurred in Atchison on Oct. 31.

On Monday, KBI agents arrested 44-year-old Bryan Boldridge of Atchison, the man who was involved in a shooting with an Atchison police.
Boldridge was discharged from the University of Kansas Medical Center Monday evening. At approximately 6:25 p.m., KBI agents, with assistance from the University of Kansas Medical Center Police Department, took him into custody on an arrest warrant for attempted second degree murder in connection with the officer involved shooting.
Boldridge was booked into the Wyandotte County Jail on $150,000 bond.
Once the KBI concludes its investigation, the findings will be turned over to the Atchison County Attorney’s Office for review. Further information related to this investigation will come from the County Attorney’s Office.

ATCHISON, Kan. – The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) is investigating an officer involved shooting which occurred in Atchison on Wednesday, Oct. 31.
According to a KBI media release, the Atchison Police Department contacted the KBI at approximately 10:35 a.m. to request assistance investigating an officer involved shooting. KBI agents and the crime scene response team (CSRT) responded to conduct the investigation.
Preliminary information indicates that an officer from the Atchison Police Department was dispatched to a theft of services call at a residence at N. Fourth St. and L St. in Atchison. When the officer arrived on scene at approximately 10:20 a.m., a male subject on the property approached the officer while carrying a rifle. The officer gave verbal commands to drop the gun, and the subject complied by putting down the rifle.
Then, the verbal conflict with the resident escalated, and the officer deployed a Taser toward the subject. The subject produced a handgun he had in his possession, and fired at the officer. The officer was not hit by gunfire, and returned fire at the subject. The subject was struck during the exchange.
The subject was taken into custody, and EMS was called. He was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The subject was later identified as Bryan C. Boldridge, 44, of Atchison.
The KBI will conduct a thorough and independent investigation into this shooting. Once the investigation is complete, the findings will be turned over to the Atchison County Attorney for review.

Registration underway for 2018 Sertoma Turkey Trot

The Sertoma Turkey Trot will celebrate its 13th year this Thanksgiving.
The 5K family run/walk is for all ages and fitness levels and benefits the St. Joseph Noyes Home for Children and youth programs of the local YMCA.
The race takes place Thursday, Nov. 22nd, and will start and finish at St. Jo Frontier Casino.
