(VIDEO) Rare Pregame Packer Footage From First Super Bowl


(Santa Barbara, CA) — A TV station in Santa Barbara, California has stumbled across a rare piece of NFL history in its film vault.

The film is from the Green Bay Packers’ airplane landing in Los Angeles just days before what would become known as Super Bowl One at the L.A. Coliseum.

The film features interviews with quarterback Bart Starr, linebacker Ray Nitschke and head coach Vince Lombardi.

The game was played January 15th, 1967 and won by the Packers 35-10 over the Kansas City Chiefs.

At a recent press conference in London to promote the U.K. release of the film, the two famous puppets shot down the accusation.

(VIDEO) 99 Yard Fumble Return Fuels Record Scoring In Orange Bowl

(Miami, FL) — Darwin Cook’s 99-yard fumble return for a touchdown sparked an onslaught and sent 23rd-ranked West Virginia to a 70-33 win over 15th-ranked Clemson in the Orange Bowl. Andre Ellington coughed up the costly fumble at the goal-line with Clemson down 21-17 in the second quarter. WVU led 49-20 at halftime and 63-20 in the third quarter. Geno Smith passed for 401 yards and six touchdowns for the Mountaineers, who end the year 10-and-3. Tavon Austin had four touchdown grabs in the win. WVU’s 70 points are the most ever scored in a bowl game. Tajh Boyd threw for 205 yards and two touchdowns, but accounted for three turnovers for Clemson. The Tigers end the year 10-and-4.
